I started Fly fishing in Victoria, Australia, as a nine year old boy. After reading many stories
of the wonderful Fly fishing New Zealand had to offer, it was time to see for myself. In arriving in the mid seventies I discovered
many rivers in the North and South Island. Now residing in the Trout Capital of the world; Turangi, on the banks of the Famous
Tongariro River, I turned my Hobby into a business and enjoy taking Anglers of all ages and walks of life to experience what
New Zealand has to offer.
Wilderness/ Back Country Fishing:
1st October till 30th May Challenging
dry fly and nymph fishing in remote rivers and streams. For Large Rainbows and Browns.
Winter Fishing / Famous Tongariro ;
Although you can fish the
Tongariro all year round, the best fishing is to be had during the spawning season which starts April to the end of September
each year where a multitude of Trout run to the head waters of many rivers that enter lake Taupo.
Clients Bring:
Camera, sunscreen, warm clothes, and hat also
Polaroid sunglasses. Don't forget your personal medication. Please advise me of any specific medical condition/s before you
